What to do with Shattered Faith

How do you approach God? Do you come to Him like a magical genie in the sky ready to meet your every need? Do you command and wait for Him to fulfil your wishes? Many people approach God only when they are in need. When they hit desperation, you find their fervency increase but is that how it’s supposed to be.

During Covid I heard many people make many requests from God, and when God didn’t come through, faith was shattered, in fact I was one such person who didn’t receive exact answers to my prayers. When God does not answer in the way you expect, your faith can certainly take a beating but how to do you stop your faith from being lost?

Firstly, we must understand who God is. God is not a servant to obey our every beck and call. Rather He is a Master whom we serve. We must remember that like and Jesus himself, we are all servants of the Most High God.

For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.

-John 6:38

If God chooses not to do what we ask does that mean He has abandoned us? Not at all. In fact, His Word says that He is working it all together for our GOOD. That leads me to my second point, God is always GOOD. When we were young every speaker used to say, “God is Good” and the church would say “ALL THE TIME”. We must understand that Gods nature is always good. He cannot be bad. Sin and the nature of man open the door to some difficult moments but God does not cause these moments.

Sin and the nature of man open the door to some difficult moments but God does not cause these moments. Remember When Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers, God was still good. When David was on the run from Saul, God was still good. When Esther risked her life, God was still good. When Daniel was thrown to the lions, God was still good. When Jonah ran away and got swallowed by a fish, God was still good. When Lazarus died, God was still good. When Peter began to sink, God was still good. WHEN JESUS DIED, GOD WAS STILL GOOD! No Matter what you are facing, God is still Good and still in love with you.

No Matter what you are facing, God is still Good and still in love with you.

Love and Bubbly Joy
