We’ve all been there, at our wits end, grasping on to any piece of strength we can find. Today I’ve got 5 verses that have encouraged me through the tired days, the days where I’m ready to hide out under the covers and let the house explode. May these bring you grace and peace.
- 2 Corinthians 12: 9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (NIV)
Paul wrote this scripture about the thorn in his flesh. We know that all he wanted was for it to be removed. It was something that was draining his energy. God did not remove it, rather he made Paul go through the challenge but graced him for it. Likewise you have been graced for this load that you bear. Its not always easy, but there is a special portion of Gods grace in it for you.
2. Isaiah 40:31
But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (NLT)
When we put our total reliance on God, holding onto His Word, we are able to find a fresh strength to carry us through. It’s enough to take us through without our energy wavering or failing us. Imagine it being like a car that never runs out of fuel. Trusting in God gives us that renewed strength.
3. Joel 3:10
Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ” (NKJV)
I love this verse. Its about changing your weaponry and preparing for a war. Where we have been focused on our daily needs we can turn to an attacking position in the Spirit and be strengthened.
4. Zechariah 4: 6
Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts. (ESV)
We need to accept that natural strength will never be enough to carry us through this race of life. We need to accept the help of the Holy Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to strengthen and support you as you walk the road of cultivating young minds and bringing them up in the ways of the Lord.
5. Luke 12:27-28
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! (ESV)
This is one of my favourite verses in the Bible. It is a constant reminder to me that God cares. If He planned out the perfect irrigation system for a simple lily, how much more does He plan for the daughter that carries His very breath. Be assured that God has your best interest at heart. Rest in his perfect peace
Today you may be stressed and overwhelmed by your little blessings, but you are doing a good job. Take a moment to rest in Gods grace, then awaken, stronger, more resilient.
Keep going mama
Love and bubbly joy
